Common Threads is a retail store offering high-end consignment clothing, new items by local artists, and an innovative creative lab, enabling customers to afford designer attire, create their own designs, invest locally, and support the staff of young interns who participate in the AIM House mentorship program.

Common Threads was founded in 2007 by owner-operators Libby Alexander and Mae Martin. Their individual passions for fashion and young people came together to create the inspiration for Common Threads.

Common threads gives consignors a way to make money while recycling their high-end clothing; buyers a way to afford designer clothing; local artists a showplace for their unique products; and all customers creative opportunities through its creative lab and classes. Most importantly, Common Threads offers real work, real world experience to its interns from AIM House.

Common Threads sells hip, current and clean high-end designer re-sale clothing for women. The store also carries a wide array of new clothing and jewelry made by local and national artists.

Because Common Threads makes the process so easy and profitable for consigners, incredible designer clothing, shoes, and bags fill the shelves, and new pieces arrive daily with labels like Armani, Gucci, Prada, ChristianLouboutin, MiuMiu, Joe's, Seven, True Religion, Rebecca Taylor, Marc Jacobs, and many more.

The store also features local art and jewelry by Hot Mama, Ric Rac, Swear Jar, Adam Sikorski, Tees For Change, Natha Perkins, Belle Baby Carriers, Annie O., English Retreads, Ugly Duckling, Kate Starr, Clementine Studio, Warm Hands/Green Hearts, Peace of the Action and more.

Common Threads works closely with AIM House, a residential mentoring program for young adults, designed for individuals who are transitioning from residential treatment centers, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, wilderness programs, and therapeutic boarding schools. The experience our young adult interns gain at Common Threads helps them begin to see themselves as the capable, resilient, and resourceful people they are.
